Law Students Visit Al Ain Police Crime Scene Affairs Department
As part of enhancing the practical aspects of the College of Law students' education, and in coordination between Professor Dr. Mustafa Qandil, Dean of the College of Law, and training officials at the Abu Dhabi Police General Command, the College organized a field visit to the Crime Scene Affairs Department of the Al Ain Police Directorate. A group of students from the College's Al Ain campus, from the Bachelor of Laws program and the Master of Criminal Sciences program, participated in the visit, supervised by Professor Dr. Mohammed Amin Al Kharsha. The visit began with an introductory lecture by a Crime Scene Department expert, covering the basic concepts related to evidence preservation procedures and mechanisms for handling crime scenes in accordance with approved legal standards. Crime Scene Department officials then conducted an interactive practical application, where students had the opportunity to view advanced devices and technologies used in evidence analysis, fingerprinting, blood detection, and 3D crime scene imaging. This experience enabled students to connect theoretical and practical aspects, enhancing their understanding of the nature of field criminal work. The students expressed their appreciation for this educational opportunity, which enhanced their legal and investigative skills. The College Deanship extended its thanks and appreciation to the officials of the Crime Scene Affairs Department/Al Ain Police Directorate and the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police for their unlimited support and efforts to develop the students’ capabilities.
