AAU organized a lecture entitled “The Journey of the Government of Dubai”
Because excellence is the foundation of every success, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University –Al Ain Campus- organized a lecture entitled “The Journey of Excellence the Government of Dubai”, in collaboration with the College of Law, it was presented by Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Nuseirat –General Coordinator of the Dubai Government Excellence Program-
The lecture was attended by a group of deans, administrative staff, and university students.
This lecture comes according to the pursuit of Al Ain University on progress and excellence at every step, in addition to its interest in looking for other experiences of distinguished institutions in order to benefit from them.
Dr. Nuseirat started the lecture with a brief about the United Arab Emirates establishment under the care of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him. And the favor goes to his outstanding leadership to what UAE and its government have reached nowadays, which faced all the challenges and difficulties in order to evolve and become a competitive country in today’s world.
Then, he talked in details about the government of Dubai, when and how it was founded, the stages over the past years as it was trying to achieve a high level of standards, the transformation of dilapidated bureaucratic into a smart government and so on. This is due to the outstanding intellect of the government members under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum - Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
After that, Dr. Nuseirat talked about the stages of founding the "Government Excellence Program", which has a huge difference in the services of the Dubai Government, Also, he showed an example of some governmental institutions in Dubai and their developments, and the percentage of success they have achieved because of the administrative industrious work and the outstanding intellect, such as: DP World, the Dubai International Airport.
He also stressed on the need of providing necessary support to the employees and motivate them, For example, Unknown Soldiers Program, in which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid honors the junior staff in the government, and that shows the interest of UAE and its government in the employees, stressing on the need for dialogue and communication between the officials and the staff.
On the other hand, Dr. Ahmed Nuseirat said that focusing on building human capabilities is one of the successful management requirements which is the base of all excellence because, stressing on pace with development is the most important characteristic of government performance and scientific progress.
At the end of the lecture, Dr. Nuseirat stressed on the values that are followed by the United Arab Emirates and the government, such as: respect, tolerance, good example, humility, love and respect for the opinions of others.
Finally, he advised the students to have a positive, effective and useful role in the society, and to be a good example to others, considering them as the future generation that builds the nation's future.
