AAU Library Welcomes Chinese Delegation for Knowledge Exchange
The Khalifa Library at Al Ain University (AAU) recently hosted an esteemed delegation from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), in a visit aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. The delegation, led by Ms. Nancy Guan, General Manager of CNKI, also included Ms. Jane Xiao, Business Manager, and Ms. Sarah Zhou, Director of Overseas Project Development. The group was warmly received by Dr. Abdoulaye Kaba, Director of Khalifa Library, who expressed his enthusiasm for the potential future partnerships.
During the visit, Dr. Kaba provided the delegation with an in-depth overview of Khalifa Library's extensive academic and research resources. He highlighted the diverse collection, which includes not only traditional print materials but also an expansive array of digital resources such as e-books, scholarly databases, multimedia tools, and digital repositories.
On the other hand, Ms. Nancy Guan gave an insightful briefing about CNKI. She emphasized CNKI’s role in connecting international institutions with Chinese academic output, offering Khalifa Library a unique opportunity to expand its access to Chinese research publications.
Dr. Kaba expressed his appreciation for CNKI’s visit and underscored the importance of international collaboration in advancing academic research. He noted that this exchange could open new pathways for AAU students and faculty to access valuable Chinese research publications, enriching their studies and research capabilities. The visit ended with a tour of Khalifa Library’s facilities.
