Religious Lecture to Mark Al Isra’ Wal Mi’raj at AAUThe AAU Deanship of Student Affairs in collaboration with the Community engagement committee at Abu Dhabi Campus organized an event in commemoration of Al Isra Wal Mi’raj. Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, and Prof. Abdelhafid Belarbi, AAU Vice President attended the seminar in addition to faculty members, staff, and students.

The event took place in Al Dhafra Hall at AAU campus in Abu Dhabi where Dr. Maher Haswa delivered a seminar in which he discussed the lessons learned from Al Isra’ Wal Mi’raj (Ascension). He explicated the significance of linking Al Masjed Al Haram and Al Aqsa Mosque and explained the verses from Al Isra Sura. Dr. Hasweh pinpointed the revelation the Quran verses provide in showing future events such as the Muslims’ entrance to Al Aqsa mosque, and that eventually the upper hand will be for Muslims. He also discussed the scenes Prophet Mohammad PBUH observed during his journey as well as the significance of the Prophets’ welcome to Prophet Mohammad PBUH. Dr. Hasweh concluded the talk with several lessons to be derived from the incident including that one needs to hold on to hope followed by hard work, and that Allah will not allow someone’s hard work to be in vain. Al Isra Wal Mi’raj was a journey of hope and good omen at a time of oppression.

At the end of the lecture, the AAU Chancellor thanked the audience and organizers; he also presented Dr. Maher Haswa with a certificate of appreciation.
