AAU organized a seminar on the “Federal Law regarding Medical Liability”

 

The Deanship of Student Affairs in Al Ain University –Al Ain Campus- organized a seminar on the “Federal Law regarding Medical Liability” in collaboration with the College of Law, presented by Mr. Abdulnasser Bin Salem -Health lLegislation Adviser, Ministry of Health and Prevention, and Dr. Mohammad Amin AlKarisheh, Associate Professor in College of Law, which were attended by number of academic staff and college’s students.

At first, Mr. Nasser spoke about the terms of the criminal responsibility of the doctor, and the stages of the patient complaint, and then he reviewed some practical examples of medical errors.

While Dr. AlKarisheh reviewed the new role of the “Medical Responsibility” in UAE, Which gives the right to correct sex in pathological cases, however, the UAE laws do not permit changing the sex at all. Where role 12 from the new law in UAE strictly forbidden the human cloning operations and medical experiments on human. Stressing on that the abortion allowed in two cases only, and noting that the law does not allow euthanized even if it was based on the patient's own request or the guardian request.
